FAQ

Whether you’re wondering about our products or just seeking a bit of clarification, we’ve got you covered.

Do you keep truck caps in stock?

We try to keep caps in stock for current-generation, popular model trucks.

How much does my truck cap weigh?

It depends on your truck and the truck cap model, but fiberglass caps generally run between 175 – 215 pounds.

Do you guarantee my cap will be watertight?

The goal is to keep your truck bed dry, and the cap itself should not leak. We use specialized foam cap tape to create a seal between the cap and your truck rails. However, we cannot guarantee that your truck bed will never see water. Trucks are not built watertight, which means water can find a way into the bed through factory-installed bed caps, unsealed seams or holes in the bed, and water splashing up into wheel wells. Windows and doors on ARE truck caps are guaranteed for one year. If you notice a leak, bring it back ASAP so we can get it fixed under warranty.

How are truck caps installed? Can my cap be removed?

We use C-clamps made specifically for truck caps and foam cap tape applied to the under rail of the cap, which forms a seal when placed on the truck. No drilling is required. To take the truck cap off, remove the clamps and lift the unit.

How do they match my truck’s paint color? Will the finish match exactly?

During the cap’s production, your truck’s color code is entered into the build system, which pulls the associated paint. However, each truck manufacturer uses multiple facilities across the US and Mexico, and there can be variances in some colors. How closely the cap and truck paints match also depends on your truck’s age, as some colors fade more than others over time. If your truck is 5+ years old, the cap paint will likely be brighter.

Do you sell replacement parts?

Some parts, such as windows and doors, are specific to the manufacturer. If you purchased the unit here, we can generally order replacement parts. Please note that we do not ship parts.
