About Us
A Vermont Family Business
In 1967, Ed Frechette built a truck camper for his family’s trip to the World’s Fair in Montreal, Canada. Later that same year, his creation took off and he opened Catamount Caps in Bennington, Vermont. Ed’s youngest son, Tom, joined him in 1972 and worked alongside his father until 1984 when he and his wife, Pat, traveled north to start their own business. Catamount North opened in Williston on June 1, 1984 – the name a tribute to the family business that started it all.

Built on the idea that integrity and hard work pay much higher dividends than a fast dollar, Catamount North has delivered quality products and unmatched customer service for over 35 years, with customers driving in from as far away as Toronto, Canada. And, while not cost-effective, they have even shipped products to Australia and England.
Pat, Tom, & general manager (and son-in-law) Neil remain as committed to serving customers as they were on the day they opened. They pride themselves on the number of repeat and referral customers they serve. Come see why Catamount North is the truck cap retailer of choice.
